What can go wrong
When you're considering a property purchase please take into consideration this list of Do's and Don'ts:

DO
 Do consult a British lawyer before you agree to purchase any property overseas
DON'T
 Don't sign anything until you have consulted a lawyer
DO
 Do read the fine print in any documents you are given
DON'T
 Don't hand over any money until your lawyer tells you it is safe to do so
DO
 Do obtain the professional opinion of an independent surveyor or valuer
DON'T
 Don't let anyone talk you out of seeking all the professional advice that you want
DO
 Do insist on a clause granting a 'cooling off' period being written into any offer to purchase agreement
DON'T
 Don't make any irrevocable decisions until after you return home
DO
 Do get all documents translated into English and insist that it is an accurate and full translation
DON'T
 NEVER make any decision, pay any money or sign a credit card voucher for timeshare until you have talked to a lawyer
